KTS has purchased a SnowDog to groom some of our local trails for winter use.  A snow dog is a motorized sled that can fit through tight spaces and tow a groomer. KTS, the Kimberley Nature Park and the Friends of Lois Creek are all working together to make this happen.  All trails are still for non motorized use throughout the winter with the exception of permitted grooming equipment. Enjoy the trails on skis, snowshoes and fatbikes this winter!

Thanks to our sponsors and community supporters for funding this purchase!  Only large contributors were posted to our website, if you contributed more than $100 and are not listed please let us know so we can add you.

Enjoy the trails this winter.  Please be mindful of the conditions.

Snowshoers have a positive impact on the trails especially after recent snowfalls clearly demarcating the walker/snowshoe side from ski side.  Please do not snowshoe on classic ski tracks.

It is appropriate to bike on packed trails whether groomed or not as long as trail integrity is not compromised.  Tires wider than 3” are recommended

Cross-Country Skiing is acceptable on all trails. On park roads, please set track to one side.

Running and walking is appropriate are as long as trail integrity is not compromised.  If you are postholing, it’s good etiquette to turn around.

Maps

There are three areas being groomed this winter along with a number of other trails that are accessible in the winter.  Lois Creek, the Trickle Creek Golf Course and the Kimberley Nature Park/Forest Crown Trails.  You can view the Trailforks Winter Trail Map for a general idea of what is usually packed in the winter months.
